Ahead of a solid release date, the gaming studio Addirktive is launching its first NFT Sale for CityStates Medieval soon. According to reports, this has most likely been triggered by the recently completed integration of the Wax Blockchain into the game. After all, the studio wants to build interoperability then seamlessly transfer and move their NFTs around.
The empire-building MMO strategy game for mobile devices and desktops has a grand vision in mind. Prior to integrating WAX Blockchain, the team confirmed that NFTs were Stellar, Ethereum and Binance Smart Chain compatible. So with WAX blockchain on the picture, players could mint a limited amount of NFTs across various blockchains.
To elaborate, early on, the team designed the project to use different blockchain services for various purposes. The HEX token exists on the Stellar blockchain, while the CSM governance token exists on the Stellar and Binance Smart Chain. The recent integration of the Wax blockchain into their dashboard and the upcoming first NFT sale highly suggest that the game will give players to option to mint their NFTs onto WAX.
The project gave its players a sneak peek of their NFTs. For example,we know there are 1,111 units of Magnus NFTs. Of these, they will sell 1,000. Meanwhile, the remaining NFTs will serve as prizes for giveaways. Secondly, they announced heroes now provide a bonus to player armies.
Role of CityStates Medieval NFTs in the Gameplay
NFTs play an integral role in mobile gameplay. To elaborate, Addirktive‘s approach to the CityStates Medieval game is that all resources are NFTs. Therefore, the player controls each resource within the game. To illustrate, players can sell these resources or use them to further their own position. For example, you could havest food and trade it for other materials. Then, using these materials, you can craft weapons.
Through a Reddit post, City States’ gaming studio confirmed that Beta is planned by year-end 2021, so make sure to follow them on Twitter.
Admittedly, CityStates Medieval have a lot of competition. Now, Polygon launched a game studio and Big Time Studios also have some games in the mix. Clearly, there is lots more to come from the blockchain gaming sphere.
