The Chaco Innova, an initiative to promote South American culture through NFTs, is expanding. Although it began in Bolivia, it will now cover parts of Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Brazil. Additionally, they have announced a $100,000 fund for South American NFT artists.
Connectivity as a Human Right
The initiative will see local artists trained to access digital markets with their NFTs. Plus, some handy Blockchain education. Allegedly, the project will give funding to creators of South American NFT art. Mainly, to combine their “ancestral knowledge of Chaco” with the modern world.
In addition, Chaco Innova aim to highlight connectivity as a fundemental human right. Impressively, the Inter-American Development Bank, Fundación Avina, Fundación Nativa and Grupo Sunu have rallied their support for the notion too.
The Future of South American NFT Art
This NFT art project in a cultural region of South America highlights blockchain’s power to innovate. Argentina is already known for its innovation in blockchain technology but other countries in the Gran Chaco region are not.
For example, Bolivia has imposed harsh restrictions on cryptocurrency. However NFTs are showing a different side to blockchain technology and attitudes are slowly changing in the region. Incredibly, the Chaco Innova call received 42 proposals from eight countries. Clearly, good use cases of NFTs grow each day; including boosting artists worldwide.
