A new booster pack sale for Splinterlands sold out fast, with 1.5M NFTs making their way into the community at $2 apiece. In the last 48 hours of the sale, the packs were being sold at a rate of 2,500 per hour. All in all, $3M was raised — a huge number, but par for the course for Splinterlands.
Splinterlands, founded in 2018, has been a pioneer in NFT game assets. Its users have played more than 6M matches and processes over 600,000 blockchain transactions every day. They’ve awarded millions of dollars in crypto and NFTs and by all indications are just getting started.
Splinterlands NFTs sell out fast
The NFTs from this latest booster pack sale are now all sold out, but there are still limited edition DICE series cards available. But aside from those 150,000 NFTs, those wishing to grab a booster pack will need to buy them on aftermarket sites like Atomic Hub and Hive-Engine.
The limited edition release, if 1.5M cards can be called “limited” should only serve to boost the standing of Splinterlands. Already a legend in the crypto games space, it continues to innovate and maintain relevance. The aftermarket booster pack NFTs will likely sell far above the $2 sale price — making them a great investment.
Next steps for Splinterlands
The booster pack sale is part of the next round of expansion for Splinterlands. A land expansion in the game sold out quickly, even before its Q4 release. Next up is the launch of a Splinterlands DAO, along with private token sales to partners and airdrops to players and collectors.
Splinterlands is a perfect example of crypto projects building on and expanding their reach in clever ways. The actual launch of the booster pack capabilities is due in July, with even more to follow.
