Ahead of its token generation event on August 26, Star Atlas announced that it is joining the Animoca Brands Ecosystem. The partnership aims to grow the game’s users base and establish interoperability between the gaming titles.
NFT-centric Animoca Brands is the tech industry’s newest unicorn after completing a capital raise of US$88,888,888 based on a valuation of US$1 Billion. As the newest stakeholder of Star Atlas, it brings along a well-oiled platform and best practices. Meanwhile, Star Atlas is an upcoming space trading and combat game running on the Solana blockchain.
Establishing Interoperability between Star Atlas and Animoca Brands Gaming Titles
The grand vision of the partnership is to create a seamless gaming experience for users. For example, a gamer on an Ethereum-powered Animoca Brands platform should be able to easily transition back and forth between that game and Star Atlas. Moreover, Star Atlas plans to integrate its NFT Collection into Animoca Brands’ pre-existing marketplace partners, particularly those with mainstream ties.

Unleashing the power of Solana and Ethereum
Animoca Brands’ gaming titles run on the Ethereum blockchain. Meanwhile, Star Atlas is powered by Solana Blockchain. So this partnership will combine two powerful and robust ecosystems. Quiroga noted that they are “honored to join the reputable ecosystem of Animoca Brands-backed games, and look forward to revolutionizing the interoperable relationship between Ethereum and Solana gamers.”
Solana combines the proof of stake consensus algorithm — PoS for short — with a novel proof-of-history, or PoH, system. Moreover, it claims to support 50,000 transactions per second (TPS), making it the fastest blockchain globally.
On the other hand, Ethereum Network uses PoW which approves the most expensive transactions faster than smaller ones. This leads to high gas fees especially when traffic is high like during NFT Drops. However, Ethereum is rolling out a major upgrade to address this scalability issue. So this partnership can showcase the benefits of this cross-chain partnership.
Animoca Brands’ portfolio of blockchain investments and partnerships includes the industry’s biggest and most successful platforms and projects.
