The auction for the Stella Artois NFT Drop on Opensea was as exciting as the races on Zed Run! Fans witnessed spirited bidding wars for the 50 Genesis ZED RUN horses with exclusively designed Stella Artois skins.
Earlier this month, the Belgian Pilsner maker announced that they are partnering with Zed Run to launch the first every branded NFTs on the horse racing platform. The Stella Artois NFT Drop featured listings for horses, skins and beer artwork.

Stella Artois NFT Drop’s Auction Drama
Each day, bidders were allowed to place a bid for one of the (50) Life Artois NFT Auction items. Peter Jennings, CEO of Fantasy Labs, snatched up the namesake Z1 “Life Artois” for $16ETH. The Z1 Nakamoto is one of the purest thoroughbreds to exist on ZED RUN. These racehorses are natural-born champions of the racetrack.
The fans expected the auction to be heated because the horses are limited-edition drops. Moreover, in the past, some top steeds were sold for six-figure sums. User Hyperfocuses battled it out with user BobbyZoo before acquiring the Z6 for $3.5 ETH.
The highest last sale recorded was for the Z1 Nakamoto Genesis racehorse with the Limited Edition Series One Moonlight racehorse skin for $24 ETH. The game gained popularity because the horses generate a crazy return on investment. Thus, fans and players wouldn’t pass the chance to acquire competitive horses that will do well on the race track.
Fans were dejected and suspect foul play because there were bids for Z9 and Z10 at 3ETH which were pulled out last minute. Some fans are saying that they might have tried bidding for Z9 and Z10 had they known that the $3ETH bid was just a bluff. In the end, Z9 and Z10 went out for 1.2 ETH and 1.3 ETH respectively.
The result of the auction brings Zed Run closer to its vision. Zed Run aims to be the future of virtual shared spaces that connects people from all over the world to partake and enjoy the sport of horse racing.

Auction BTS
The racing ability of the horses is still unknown at this time. What drove the prices upward is the additional NFT art, unique skin and the special names handpicked by Stella Artois. This just proves that sponsors are integral to all types of sporting events.
The skins are treated as hot commodities because they are transferrable between horses. Furthermore, each horse has a coat color underneath the skin. The underlying coat color is what gets factored into the breeding algorithm.
Each of the auction items comes with 1 x Stella Art Piece (1 of 50), 1 Genesis Racehorse NFT (1 of 50) and 1 Stella Artois First Edition Skin (1 of 50). Buyers can collect all five Stella Artois First Editions Skins, each one commemorates the tradition, fashion and sport in The Life Artois Style.
OpenSea will distribute ZED Run Genesis racehorse and rare skin coat to The Life Artois NFT holders before July 30, 2021.
