Celebrated celebrity photographer Ellen Von Unwerth is preparing to drop a new supermodel NFT series. The collection will feature some of the esteemed picture-taker’s most iconic images, in non-fungible form.
The project will launch at 5PM UK time today, Thursday 21st October, and comprises five individual assets. Claudia Schiffer, Naomi Campbell, and Kate Moss all appear in the tokenised work, with the shots snapped while each was at the height of their career. The NFTs are all animated, adding to their appeal.
Where Can You Buy the Supermodel NFTs?
Good question. The supermodel NFT collection — as we’re calling it — will open for bids on Cryptograph. For those unfamiliar, this is a non-fungible token marketplace dedicated to ‘icons’. Effectively a one-stop-shop for anyone who wants to buy images of famous faces, in NFT form.
What’s more, by participating in the auction — and winning — you’ll also be helping out some worthwhile causes. The NFT scene has shown some serious philanthropy this year, and the supermodel NFT collection is no different.
UNICEF, Fashion for Relief, and Imperial Health Charity are the chosen worthy cause recipients. All proceeds from Von Unwerth’s sale will go to these three organisations. So, how’s that for a reason to get involved?
Overall, we’ve seen a number of inspiring efforts to raise money for charities through NFTs in recent weeks. In particular, the 14-year-old artist responsible for ‘Belugies‘ and the Singapore charity NFT auction raising money for low-income families are truly inspiring. Although this isn’t to say all projects donating proceeds to make the world a better place shouldn’t be lauded. Here are some of our recent favourites.
