Social media giant TikTok has just confirmed its first NFT collection, called TikTok Top Moments. The drop will include non-fungible tokens created by top NFT artists and TikTok’s most popular content creators.
TikTok-powered NFTs: celebrating digital content
Do you want to own a moment that broke the internet? That’s exactly what TikTok is offering this month via NFTs.
This month, the most downloaded social media app worldwide is joining the NFT craze. In a recent announcement, TikTok revealed exciting details regarding TikTok Top Moments – its debut non-fungible token collection.
Accordingly, there will be six one-of-one drops featuring the platform’s top content creators. Lil Nas X, Curtis Roach and Bella Poach team up with renowned NFT creators to design exquisite video digital assets.
For the first drop will feature a collaboration between Lil Nas X and Rudy Willingham. This first limited edition NFT will become available on Ethereum starting October 6th. However, the non-fungible token will be powered by layer-2 protocol Immutable X.
A physical event for TikTok’s digital assets
Notably, we’ll be able to enjoy TikTok Top Moments physically, at New York’s Museum of the Moving Image. The collection, this time called ‘Infinite Duets: Co-Creating on TikTok,’ will be available starting October 1st, up until November 5th.
As Global Head of Marketing Nick Tran pointed out, the platform aims to support its NFT community in new and differentiated ways:
“The creation that happens on TikTok helps drive culture and starts trends beyond the platform”, he says. “As the creator economy continues to grow, we’re continually looking for new and differentiated ways to support our creators. Now, fans can own a moment on TikTok that helped shape the internet while supporting some of their favorite creators. We’re excited to see how our community and NFT communities engage with some of the internet’s most beloved cultural milestones.”
The artists collaborating on the TikTok Top Moments Collection
Judging by its creators list, the first TikTok NFT collection will probably be an instant hit.
Following its first drop, designed by Lil Nas X and Rudy Willingham, the platform’s second NFT will feature Curtis Roach and NFT leader COIN ARTIST. The rapper went viral with a 15-second viral TikTok video capturing the essence of life during the pandemic.
Surprisingly, the third NFT of the collection features FNMeka – the first robot rapper with over 10 million TikTok followers. Its collaborators will be RTFKT’, a digital collectible and shoe creator.
Gary Vaynerchuk will also join the collection, partnering with TikTok star Jess Marciante and xOr. The platform labeled this collaboration as ‘fun,’ sparking interest in the resulted NFT.
Bella Poarch is another TikTok icon joining the NFT collection. She will collaborate with her real-life friend and NFT pioneer Grimes for a memorable digital creation.
However, Grimes will also partner with Brittany Broski (also known as ‘Kombucha girl’) for TikTok’s sixth exclusive NFT. This final collaboration will donate all the proceeds to charity.
