VeVe Continues Run Of Impressive Licenses with Jim Henson Partnership

The Jim Henson Company is the latest entertainment brand to release its debut NFT collection exclusively on VeVe! To mark the 35th anniversary of its hit film “Labyrinth”, the company will release a collection of 3D collectibles based on the film via VeVe’s NFT marketplace.

The Jim Henson Company Enters The NFT Space With VeVe

The Jim Henson Company is the famous name behind several classic family movies and TV shows. Indeed it is most well-known as the creator of The Muppets. The company released the fantasy film “Labyrinth” in 1986. Owing to the film’s 35th year anniversary, the collection will drop in early 2022.

What’s more VeVe added some context to the partnership in a recent blog post. For example, VeVe co-founder Dan Crothers describes the movie as “one of the most iconic fantasy films of all time.” Subsequently, he remarks that they “jumped at the opportunity” to work with The Jim Henson Company on their debut NFT collectibles.

The NFT Collection Marks A Special Occasion For “Labyrinth”

As has been noted, the timing of the NFT collection drop is anything but random. On the contrary, it is of course part of the 35th anniversary celebration of “Labyrinth”. Obviously, the rise in the popularity of NFTs over the course of 2021 makes this a great way for The Jim Henson Company to mark the occasion.

Melissa Segal is the head of consumer products for The Jim Henson Company. Speaking about the partnership, she said that the company hopes that the NFTs will allow their fans to, “… connect with the film’s cast of characters in an entirely new and engaging product landscape.”

By the same token, Segal calls the NFT collection a “perfect tribute” to the film’s lasting legacy. Certainly the digital collectibles add some modern flair to the “beloved and respected” piece of entertainment.

VeVe Continues Run Of Impressive Licenses with Jim Henson Partnership

To clarify for those unfamiliar, VeVe is the largest mobile-first digital collectibles platform. In other words, collectors purchase NFTs on VeVe directly on its mobile apps.

VeVe partners with major brands to sell premium licensed NFTs. Previously VeVe has held major NFT drops for characters from Marvel Comics and Disney. Therefore it makes perfect sense why The Jim Henson Company decided to go with VeVe to release its first ever NFTs.

Overall its high-profile licenses are just one thing that make VeVe stand out. As a matter of fact the company proudly touts the lack of gas fees, reduced environmental impact and fast transaction speeds that come from it using Immutable X. To explain, Immutable X is a layer 2 solution on the Ethereum network. This means that VeVe can keep its NFTs on Ethereum while avoiding some of the above issues that come with that blockchain.

All in all this yet another notable NFT collection to come from VeVe that is sure to please fans of The Jim Henson Company.
