Top NFT marketplace Refinable have announced that Multichain integration is now available. The platform’s first cross-chain integration is with the Polygon Network (previously matic). Right now, users can now mint NFTs from the Polygon network directly on Refinable.
What is Polygon?
Polygon is a layer 2 Ethereum blockchain, which is a blockchain that confirms transactions faster than a major blockchain network, in this case, the Ethereum mainchain. It is one of many, including LOOM and SKALE. It also acts as a bridge to and from the Ethereum network, enabling users a seamless transition between them. The positive to Polygon is that it has all of the benefits of Ethereum with faster and cheaper transactions. Projects such as The Sandbox have made their move to Polygon to lessen their carbon footprint.
What is Refinable?
Refinable is an NFT marketplace that allows users to discover, create, and buy NFTs. They have now started to offer multi-chain flexibility including this move to support Polygon NFTs. In addition to their marketplace, Refinable also offer solutions for new NFT projects.
What does the Polygon Refinable partnership mean for the future?
The look forward to more cross-chain partnerships will allow for easier ways to buy, sell and trade NFTs. With the high gas fees on the Ethereum blockchain, people will begin to make the moves over to other blockchains like Cardano or Solana, which have been building momentum up as of recent. This is bound to happen unless Ethereum gas fees are lowered. The lowering of gas fees may come naturally as the blockchain grows over time.
Additionally, the company have announced on their website that the Polygon Refinable partnership will not be their last. They have invited people to get in contact regarding future collaborations. Thus, we may see more chains joining Refinable. If not that, then perhaps just more creators supporting the NFT marketplace.
