Together, the team dropped 2,066 digital avatars ready to explore the Metaverse, earn, play, and get rewards. The collection already sold out in the first 45 minutes after launch, so let’s find out what it’s all about!
How Did the Rabbids NFT Drop Sell Out so Quickly?
We officially entered the Year of the Rabbit, and The Sandbox celebrates in style! The leading metaverse joined forces with Ubisoft to drop a new exclusive collection: Rabbids.
These limited-edition collectibles dropped on February 21st at 2 pm UTC, and users could mint two NFTs per wallet. Then, the public sale was held one day later, on February 22nd, with a maximum mint of four collectibles per wallet. Surprisingly, the Sandbox announced via Twitter that this drop sold out in a record-breaking 45 minutes.
The price per NFT was 100 SAND (The Sandbox’s official crypto coin), or $75 at the time of writing. Considering the hype around the project, many collectors thought it was a fair price to begin with. Creators at Ubisoft will reveal the collectibles on February 25th, much to minters’ delight!
What is the Collection All About?
In short, Rabbids is a collection of 2,066 NFTs on the Polygon blockchain. Each 3D digital avatar is generated with unique traits; in fact, the collection also includes several 1:1 hand-illustrated Lunar Festival Rabbids.
Holders will be able to use their new avatars in The Sandbox to explore and play. Accordingly, the Rabbids community can also take part in special events, earn SAND, and get exclusive rewards!
