Yesterday, June 8, The Sandbox, released the third wave of the Summer Jam LAND. Notably smaller than the first 2 rounds, there are 300 LANDs and 100 Premium LANDs available around three new partners. Moreover, 2 Estates are up for grabs on Opensea.
The Sandbox Wave 3 Jam LAND Sale
With this sale, The Sandbox will introduce a few changes to the sale formula. The changes are in response to the feedback from the community. Given the high demand, first on the list is to update the server capacity in order to handle the number of simultaneous users. Furthermore, the metaverse is putting in place extra security checks on Cloudflare Enterprise CDN to ensure that only humans are transacting in the system.
In terms of user experience, The Sandbox is improving the map loading functionality by creating a new view on the map that only loads the sale area.
Fans and collectors can look forward to a queuing system starting on Wave 4. This improvement will ensure that LAND distribution is fairer and not dependent on the speed of clicking. At this point, this functionality is undergoing intensive QA and testing.
The Partners
The Sandbox is partnering with Roxel, McDull and Shrine of Truth for this wave.
Roxel is a collection of 250 animated and customizable voxel robot avatars. Fans and collectors build Roxels from scratch. Their 3×3 ESTATE will be settled at the -24,114 coordinates above a The Sandbox reserved 6×6 ESTATE.
McDull, the outgoing cartoon pig that never gives up will also have a metaverse presence. The character’s 3×3 ESTATE is primely located close to a 24×24 The Sandbox ESTATE, above the first 6×6 ESTATEon auction during this sale and below a 3×3 The Sandbox ESTATE.
Lastly, the Shrine of Truth is also part of this wave. It is an experience that is part of the collaboration between two teams from The Sandbox Creator Fund: Light Trail Adventures and Sand Rush. You can spot their 3×3 ESTATE located at the -3,138 coordinates, to the left of the second 6×6 ESTATEs that will be auctioned on OpenSea.
Over the past twelve months, The Sandbox has been setting up all kinds of partnerships. Think about Care Bears, The Smurfs and Atari. In addition, they’ve created a game fund to stimulate developers to create unique games within The Sandbox.
The Sandbox is also powering the metaverse move of popular Collectibles, The Bored Ape Yacht Club. Basically, The Sandbox team is voxelizing the apes to allow all BAYC NFT holders to appear as their apes in the metaverse. Meanwhile, the BAYC team is partnering with a full professional team to build out the BAYC estate they bought at The Sandboxox in style and detail.
Premium LANDs
The 100 Premium LANDs that will be up for sale during this first wave are all conveniently located close to the three partners. Moreover, the premium LANDs are near The Sandbox-owned estate and estates available on OpenSea. Aside from the LAND’s, users can bid on two well-located, medium 6×6 estates.
