WiV, an innovative fintech platform, has dropped its first US wine NFT! For this, WiV has tokenized a case of the 2015 vintage Dominus Estate Othello wine. According to the company, this is the first time a US wine is getting dropped as an NFT.
However, WiV Investment Club members will have the first shot at getting the wine NFT. “$WIVA wine club members will be the lucky firsts to enter a raffle and compete for this wine,” WiV wrote in a blog post.

Napa Valley-based Dominus Estate, one of the leading producers of Napa wine, is the creator of Othello, a red wine. Moreover, the Estate was ranked 33rd on 2017 Liv-ex Power 100 for critic consensus.
“A rich, elegant, and refreshing wine, Othello has silky tannins and bright aromas of red fruit,” WiV wrote. “The 2015 Californian vintage has earned a place in history because of the devastation to its yield due to bushfires that wreaked havoc on the state.”
The drop went live at 18:00 CEST on September 30 for $655. If you wish to purchase the NFT, head over to OpenSea.
WiV is a blockchain-based asset technology that caters to the wine industry. Additionally, it develops a range of Fine Wine Digital collectibles. In August, for instance, the platform launched a rare fine wine NFT collection based on the Bored Ape Yacht Club. WiV launched the collection for BAYC holders as part of its new project, the Bored Wine Company. Holders who invest in the venture would receive unique wine label NFTs featuring their ape!
