TIME Studios has announced two more NFT projects that it is partnering with to create animated TV shows for kids. As a result, the popular NFT collections Smilesssvrs and Toy Boogers will see their characters come to life on the small screen.
Smilesssvrs and Toy Boogers join Time Studios’ NFT TV roster
The big news came yesterday in a town hall in the TIMEPieces community Discord. What’s more, the news dropped in sync with an article from The Hollywood Reporter.
Smilesssvrs artist Waheed Zai and Toy Boogers artist, Doug, both joined TIME’s president Keith Grossman on the stage, along with several other artists partnering with TIME on its next NFT drop.
TIME Studios first stated its plans for kids’ TV shows based on NFTs back in November. At that time, it announced a partnership with Pablo Stanley’s Robotos NFT collection. Similar to Robotos, the news boosted sales of the two NFT collections on OpenSea.
The news added to a joyous few days for Zai and his NFT project. To explain, just one day before the TIME Studios news, Coinbase NFT also put out news of a Smilesssvrs team-up. Indeed, Smilesssvrs will be one of the projects on its NFT marketplace at launch.
TIME Magazine continues its transition to Web3 focus
Of course, the NFT shows from TIME Studios are far from the only big things that TIME is doing in the NFT space.
TIMEPieces is the Web3 arm of TIME Magazine. In fact, much of the town hall news spoke to how invested the company is, not just in TIME Studios’ NFT projects, but in all of its Web3 plans.
To that end, Grossman also stated in the town hall that he would be shifting his role at TIME. While he will stay on as president, he will now focus entirely on TIME’s Web3 initiatives.
Finally, some information about the next TIME NFT drop also came during the town hall. For one thing, people will be able to sign up for it starting on Jan. 27th. Given how quickly their first TIMEPieces NFTs sold out, it’s safe to say this next one will be one to look out for.
By the same token, it wouldn’t be a surprise to hear some news about more NFT-based projects coming from TIME Studios in the future.
