OG NFT Collector and CEO of NFTBoxes.io Pranksy issued an official statement on Twitter against fellow NFT leader Beanie (@beaniemaxi). The two threw tirades against each other over scalping allegations and cancel culture.

What Started The Twitter Feud between Pranksy and Beanie?
The feud started when Beanie commented on one of Pranksy’s Tweet which claims that he minted 7% of an entire NFT collection. Beanie accused Pranksy of being a scalper and commented that his own platform, MintPass, makes scalping much more difficult and rewards actual community participants.

The community is divided over the allegations. Darlington, CEO of NFT Project Monstercat, defended Pranksy. He said that “Pranksy constantly mints 5-10% of a collection and then provides liquidity for people to enter on the way up. He never plummets the floor, doesn’t pump gas to 1000+ GWI.” He also noted that he feels a lot better when he sees him owning 10% of an NFT Collection, rather than some random Ox wallets.
On the other hand, some users felt strongly about the accusation of Beanie. One user said, “He bought 7%, posted that, hopes for a pump and dumps his 7% … and the community likes him lol.”
Pranksy’s Side
Since the Twitter exchange, the situation escalated quickly, leading to Pranksy’s official statement. In answer to the situation, he tweeted “I’ve blocked Beanie and reported his account for harassment.” He added that while he welcomed a passionate argument, he cannot “tolerate someone like Beanie, who is out of control.” At the peak of the feud, Pranksy even suggested Beanie seek professional help.
Pranksy explained what triggered him to speak. He claimed that without provocation, Beanie slammed his profile to advertise his own platform instead. Moreover, he shared incidents of Beanie calling him a “parasite,” amongst other derogatory terms. He said, “I try to distance myself from this sort of engagement but felt I had a right to defend myself in this case.”
Aside from the personal attacks, the argument even extended to the personal businesses of the two leading influencers in the NFT scene. Pranksy explained that the NFTBoxes floor price is low because they have a ticket system that has a single-use. He then took a jab against the utility of Beanie’s MintPass.
As the argument heated up, Farokh also chimed in. The Entrepreneur, investor and consultant lauded Pranksy for calling out Beanie. Making clear which side he supports, he said, “Got dozens of DM’s from people he has bullied as well. No room for <that> here.”

Beanie’s Side
Beanie didn’t issue an official statement to respond to the accusations point by point. He only commented on the cancel culture aimed against him. He said, “We’re getting carried away though w/ cancel culture but I also have very aggressive NFT build plans and arguing semantics is distracting.”
Effect on the NFT Community
Pranksy has over 100,000 followers, while Beanie has around 50,000. The number might not be that impressive in Hollywood or Mainstream standards but in the NFT space, that’s already god-tier. If such arguments ensue, our community suffers more harm than good.
