An Aavegotchi Astronaut, the final piece of the uGotchi puzzle entitled “Unopened Portal #2,” has finally been released. It joins other uGotchi entries on the website Unicly. It also helped kick off the UNIC farming push on May 18.
The Aavegotchi NFTs are a collection of adorable, ghostly pixel art characters. They’re native to the GHST token, which is based on the Aave protocol. uGotchis represent a kind of conversion from GHST to ETH. Pixelcraft Studios made the Aavegotchi available on Unicly, where users can buy a piece of the original title.
uGotchi a rising brand
This latest addition to the uGotchi collection should help cement the brand’s place in the Unicly marketplace, where it is competing against such heavyweights as CryptoPunks, Hashmasks and Jenny Metaverse tokens. As of writing, uGotchi was ranked 4th, though that is like to change as the farming push continues.
Unicly was made to allow users to buy and trade shares in NFTs that might otherwise be too expensive. But it can also breathe new life into crypto brands by increasing their exposure. The more uGotchis being actively traded, the greater the impact the Aavegotchis will have.
Growing the ghostly family
The process for owning an Aavegotchi is complex. The creatures must be carefully found and raised, with add-ons like wearables and their “kinship score” boosting their rarity — and thus value. While not prohibitively expensive, the learning curve can be a bit much for casual users.
As projects like uGotchi take root, there will be another way for users to participate without having to make a complex investment. With any luck, the newest member of the uGotchi family will be well taken care of by its new adoptive family.
