Today, the iconic Scotch whiskey brand Johnnie Walker and its parent company DIAGEO have announced a marquee partnership with the VeeFriends NFT collection. The collaboration will include a luxury gifting experience for VeeFriends “Gift Goat” token holders, courtesy of Johnnie Walker. In addition, Johnnie Walker will host an activation at the upcoming VeeCon superconference.

VaynerNFT, the NFT arm of Gary Vee’s VaynerX creative and media agency, helped secure the partnership between VeeFriends and Johnnie Walker.
Significantly, this collaboration is one of many opportunities DIAGEO is pursuing as part of a larger Web3 effort. In essence, DIAGEO is looking to Web3 in order to expand the ways its customers across the globe can enjoy both their rare spirits and real-life experiences.
As Sophie Kelly, Senior Vice President of Whiskies at DIAGEO North America, noted:
“Web3 offers DIAGEO an opportunity to meet new communities and customers where they are in culture. It also offers an exciting new space to provide spirits enthusiasts with access to the most rare and collectible spirits in our portfolio.”
Not only that, but Kelly went on to add that this is just the beginning for DIAGEO in Web3.
“Our customers can expect to see more from us on this front as we look to Web 3 to release the most luxurious and sought after spirits we have to offer. Stay tuned.”
Johnnie Walker Partnership marks a milestone for the VeeFriends creator
To be sure, the partnership with Johnnie Walker is a major personal moment for VeeFriends creator, Gary Vaynerchuk aka Gary Vee. As many may know, Gary Vee got his start in social media vlogging with Wine Library TV. He began the YouTube series in 2006 while serving as Wine Library’s Director of Operations.
Vaynerchuk acknowledged the poetry of the situation in a statement, saying:
“Anybody that knows me knows that I grew up in the liquor industry. So if somebody told 22-year-old Gary that his NFT/IP project would be collaborating with the iconic Johnnie Walker Blue Bottle, he would’ve fallen off his chair.”
Lastly, he concluded by expressing his excitement “for the individuals that hold the gift goat NFT and for Johnnie Walker, the brand, to be embarking strategically and thoughtfully into the Web3 space.”
VeeFriends Gift Goat NFTs continue to provide incredible utility
As previously mentioned, these Johnnie Walker gifts will be exclusively for holders of the Gift Goat VeeFriends NFTs. Gift Goat is one of the 268 characters in the original VeeFriends collection. What’s more, there are 555 Gift Goat tokens in total.
Gift Goat is one of the many VeeFriends sub-collections bearing its own unique utility. In this case, Gift Goat holders are eligible to receive at least six physical gifts per year, for three years. Evidently, those lucky holders will be receiving some limited edition bottles of Johnnie Walker Blue. Each bottle carries both the VeeFriends logo and the Gift Goat character, as well as a number out of 555.
