A new VeVe Disney+ NFT collection has been announced to celebrate the first annual Disney+ Day. The series will feature characters and items from cinema and television titles.
Officially dubbed ‘Golden Moments’, the series comprises interactive golden statues tied to some of the biggest products from the Disney stable. Given the fact that includes Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars, we’re expecting a lot of interest.
In terms of getting your hands on items in the project, the NFT collection will be available in the run-up to Disney+ Day. Just in case you don’t know when that is, the event is held on 12th November each year. Or at least it has been since its inception in 2019.
The project will culminate on that date with a special Ultra Rare collectible placed on sale. We’re not sure what that is, or which franchise it might be from, but that’s beside the point. Considering the series and movies involved here, demand is definitely going to be huge.
More on the VeVe Disney+ NFT Collection
If you read the small print — or at least this post by VeVe Collectibles on Medium — it quickly becomes clear there’s more to the NFT collection than NFTs alone. Perhaps not strictly a physical, IRL aspect, in select regions those who buy an NFT in the series will also get three months of Disney+ for free.
Meanwhile, anyone who buys an Ultra Rare collectible can expect to receive a 12 months complimentary subscription to the streaming service. That’s not a bad way to sweeten the deal. Crucially, though, that offer is only valid for either new or returning Disney+ customers. That means if you already have an active account you won’t be eligible for the bonus offer.
At the time of writing, further details about the drop — including which characters will be on sale from which dates — are thin on the ground. As such, our best advice is to keep an eye on the VeVe Collectibles blog for updates as and when they arrive.
Heard of Disney+? What About VeVe?
VeVe is an app-based marketplace specialising in premium licensed digital collectibles. The platform has been quick to establish itself in this nascent end of the collector’s market, allowing people to buy rare, one-of-a-kind crypto items to add to their collections. Tokidoki, DC Comics, Star Trek, and Back To The Future are among the franchises the marketplace has listed.
Spiderman comics are some of the most recent additions. VeVe was also lucky enough to get rights to a James Bond ‘No Time To Die’ NFT movie stub, marking the release of the 25th 007 film. Other popular assets include Marvel Mightys — cute, infantilised versions of popular superheroes — and The Little Prince.
