Today, the giant music company Warner Music Group (WMG) revealed its latest collaboration with Splinterlands. Together, the duo will allow WMG artists to develop brand new Play-to-Earn blockchain games, all by the power of NFTs.
This revolutionary project opens new doors for the arcade-style gaming industry, as well as established musical artists.
Splinterlands x Warner Music Group: What you should know
Today is a historical day for the blockchain gaming industry, as Warner Music Group officially joins the market. Starting this year, the company will grant its select artists the chance to develop blockchain games. Thanks to its partnership with Splinterlands, each game will include P2E mechanics and, of course, NFTs.
In addition, the two companies will create mobile-friendly experiences accessible to all gamers. The partnership is undoubtedly impressive, resulting in a stronger, faster-growing Web3 community.
WGM Chief Digital Officer and EVP, Oana Ruxandra, confirmed the great potential of the partnership:
“I don’t think we can underestimate how massive the opportunity around P2E gaming is. By partnering with Splinterlands to build custom tokenized games, we’ll unlock new revenue streams for our artists who have an interest in the space while elevating the role of fandom and community,” she said in a press release. “As the Web3 ecosystem continues to evolve, WMG is committed to making sure music is front-and-center.”
A successful 2022 start for Splinterlands
Launched way back in 2018, Splinterlands is now enjoying roaring success in the NFT space. In fact, the game has recently surpassed 1.8M registered users and 450k active daily users. Surprisingly, the game also celebrated its one billion battle milestone, and this might be just the beginning!
In 2022, project admins are planning to launch the SPS validator node software, allowing everyone to track Hive blockchain transactions. The feature, set to release by the end of Q1, is a key upgrade that will enhance the P2E experience.
Together with Warner Music Group, Splinderlands will likely grow exponentially throughout 2022.
“Warner Music Group is a leader in the music industry. They are innovating the music industry to meet the standards set by Web 3.0 community members. We’re thrilled to be working with them and I look forward to new collaborations at the intersection of gaming, music, crypto, NFTs, DeFi, and blockchain,” says Splinterlands CEO Jesse “Aggroed” Reich.
