Why Christmas Cards are Boring and Buying Your Family NFTs is Better

By Bryan TeohDecember 15, 20213 Mins Read

Less than two weeks left until the most wonderful time of the year. Amidst all the Christmas discounts around town, here’s a Christmas gift that will suit almost anyone: NFTs! Why not? Instead of the usual Christmas sweaters, lotions and iTunes gift cards, treat your loved ones with something exciting this holiday season!

We all want to get our loved ones that special something that shows them we love them and we care about them. The NFT market has seen exponential growth this year. NFT sales saw a jump from $1.3 billion in Q2 2021 to a staggering $10.7 billion in Q3 2021. With the abundance of crypto and NFT projects, you are sure to find something suitable for that special someone.

However, the icing on the cake would be the gift of education. Although cryptocurrencies and NFTs have received more attention than a chicken strolling into a lion’s den, only a small population of people actually understand them. From a survey by Pew Research Centre, only 16% of Americans actually use them even though 84% have at least heard a little bit about it. Whereas TripleA claims that less than 4% of the world’s population own crypto as of 2021.

This Christmas would be the perfect opportunity to share this privilege with your loved ones, with a cup of hot chocolate by the fire, of course. Whether it’s an image, a gif, a collectible, an in-game asset, music, a new cryptocurrency, or a cool domain name, you will be spoiled for choice.

    Christmas-themed NFTs available this year

For starters, you may want to check out Iris Apfel’s NFT CryptoCards. This exclusive set of holiday cards were recently auctioned and the proceeds were set aside for charity. In addition, many notable NFT artists are releasing Christmas versions of their collection. Fang Gang has started to release its series of 12 Christmas-themed NFTs since 12th December. All you have to do is hold any Fang Gang NFT and you will be eligible to claim one of these limited mints. However, as you can only choose one day out of the 12.

If you’re looking for something more interactive, invite your friends and family to join PancakeSwap’s Christmas bunny competition. Design your own Christmas bunny and stand a chance to win some CAKE tokens. Similarly, the Cool Cats design competition was held recently where 50 winners will be selected and awarded with allowlist spots. On the other hand, the Dogemon metaverse will be giving away free Landlord NFTs for the first 25k players who complete the assigned tasks. Clearly, there are plenty of choices available for everyone.

As you present the gifts, take the opportunity to introduce them to the crypto space. From NFTs to cryptocurrencies to the metaverse, you will not run out of topics this Christmas.
