Willie D — NFT content manager, legendary rapper, decade-long crypto advocate. This week news hit the man in question had joined Saitama LLC. The firm has drafted him to head up its crypto and NFT content team, which makes perfect sense to us.
The hip-hop hero, a member of The Geto Boys, has backed cryptocurrency for more than half a decade. So it’s logical that Saitama LLC — a platform dedicated to financial empowerment — would appoint him President of NFT Curation and Talent Acquisition. The rapper has apparently been paid $50million for the move, plus incentives and bonuses.
“The things that impresses me most about the Saitama coin, besides its meteoric rise in just a few months, is the transparency and commitment of the dev team behind it,” Willie told AllHipHop. “With most crypto projects you never see the team, so you don’t know who you’re in bed with.
“I think people will be impressed with all the stuff we have planned with our NFT partners, and the new wallet and exchange,” he continued. “Then there’s the gaming platform. All of those features will be in one place on the Saitama website.”
Willie D NFT Manager, and Coin Creator?
Willie has also unveiled plans to launch his own coin. We’re expecting all this to prove successful given his years of experience with cryptocurrencies. He was an early Bitcoin investor, and also was quick to begin dipping toes into Dogecoin.
This is the latest major crypto news from the rap world, with Russell Simmons’ NFT collection recently unveiled, paying homage to hip hop originators. Meanwhile, his partner on that project, Snoop Dogg, has also laid claim to being the well-known NFT whale, Cozomo de’ Medici.
