WWE enthusiasts rave after officials confirm the first John Cena NFT platinum tier auction. The 24-hour bidding starts this Friday at 8 pm ET. It comes just ahead of this weekend’s long-awaited SummerSlam.
WWE to host unprecedented John Cena NFT auction
Earlier today, the WWE group confirmed that it has prepared a 24-hour auction. The event is featuring an exclusive John Cena NFT. There, collectors will bid on the WWE official NFT page starting Friday evening (at 8 pm ET).
NFT platform Bitski will present the surprise NFT and stick through the bidding process. The auction will end on Saturday evening (at 8 pm ET). By that time, Las Vegas’ SummerSlam will have just begun.
WWE Senior Vice President Scott Zanghellini is confident about the auction:
“The Summer of Cena will be capped off by a phenomenal main event at SummerSlam as well as an opportunity for the WWE Universe to own unique collectibles inspired by one of the biggest stars in Hollywood today,” he says.
The top bidder’s generous prize
Aside from a unique John Cena NFT, the winning bidder of this Friday’s auction will get plenty of additional experiences and items:
- A two-ticket journey into WrestleMania;
- A VIP experience at Wrestlemania 38 at the AT&T Dallas Stadium (or Wrestlemania 39 on the SoFi Stadium in L.A.);
- A personalized Title Belt with their name engraved;
- John Cena’s very own style chain from WrestleMania 35.
The generous prize aims to attract as many enthusiasts as possible into the NFT marketplace. Additionally, the auction is celebrating the ‘Summer of Cena.’ The superstar will also host this year’s SummerSlam.
A promising start for WWE dedicated NFTs
The John Cena NFT auction isn’t the first event of its kind for Bitski. The NFT platform has also teamed up with WWE for a series of limited edition Undertaker NFTs last spring.
This time, fans can pick between 500 limited edition NFTs and a merch box curated by John Cena himself. This collection will be available starting Saturday, August 21.
