BAYC and Otherside creator Yuga Labs has finally completed the refund for unsuccessful Otherdeed NFT minters. The Yuga Labs refund took some time given the massive number of failed transactions during the mint last week. However, many participants are still unhappy over how the whole thing went down.

What actually happened during the Otherside mint?
Everyone expected gas wars going into the mint, but the highly anticipated mint shook the Ethereum blockchain so bad that it crashed. The average price of Ethereum gas fees throughout the night was around 100-200 times the normal fees.
Even so, many people took the chance and spent thousands of dollars in gas fees for each attempt. Given the limited number of plots, many were left in the dust that night.
Even after the Yuga Labs refund, the company is still receiving criticisms and demands. Lin Dai, BAYC holder and CEO of OneOf thinks that decentralization should not be an excuse for this event. Especially when various centralized venture capital companies are backing Yuga Labs. Therefore, he urges the DAO to be accountable to the community.
Here’s how to find your Yuga Labs refund
First of all, head over to Etherscan and input your wallet address in the search bar. You will then see your Otherside gas fee refund when you click on ‘Internal Txns’ (It’s the second tab). Yuga Labs has contracted Token Multisender to process all the refunds. If you have more than one transaction that qualifies for a refund, they will be combined into one refund.
Without a doubt, scammers will be ready to pounce on this opportunity. Therefore, Yuga Labs is reminding everyone to be careful, and not interact with any suspicious tokens in the wallet. Clicking them or even trying to delete them may put your assets in jeopardy.
