Bollywood Actress Sunny Leone Tweets to Elon Musk About the Future of NFTs

    By Reethu RaviSeptember 20, 2021Updated:April 14, 20232 Mins Read

Amid the growing popularity of NFTs across industries, many artists have hopped on the bandwagon to release their own NFTs. Bollywood is no exception to this, with actress Sunny Leone advocating NFTs and now contacting Elon Musk to speak about it.

Yesterday, she tweeted the SpaceX CEO asking, “Do you think NFT is the future?”  Given how Musk is known for influencing cryptocurrency prices with his tweets, it comes as no surprise that Leone questioned him on NFTs. However, Musk is yet to respond to the question (at the time of writing). Knowing his mysterious nature, its unclear whether he ever will.

Why did Sunny Leone tweet Elon Musk about NFTs?

Early this month, Sunny Leone announced the launch of her first-ever NFTs. According to her new NFT website, the collection will contain digital collectibles living on the Ethereum blockchain. Furthermore, the collection will have 1,000 unique NFTs in total.

“Your Sunny Leone NFT is your membership access pass to the Exclusive content, Perks, and Access in Sunny Leone Metaverse,” the website notes. Some of the perks include access to private Discord channels and early access to future NFT drops. The NFTs, according to the website, offer a “once in a lifetime opportunity” to interact with the Bollywood star.

Sunny Leone is not the only Bollywood star to launch their NFTs. Early this month, Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan also announced his upcoming NFT collection. Made up of multiple artworks and performance pieces, his debut NFT collection will go live on the new NFT marketplace, the BeyondLife.club. Allegedly, one of the NFTs includes a signed poster of his iconic 1975 movie ‘Sholay’. Not only that, Bachchan’s reading of the poem ‘Madhushala’ is also included in the collection.

Bollywood is just another huge industry joining in on the NFT craze. Sunny Leone is huge and extremely mainstream so her reaching out to Elon Musk about NFTs is a huge plus for the NFT community and the bollywood industry. At this rate, only time will tell which industry will be next.
