Brazillian football star, Neymar, is the next major celebrity to ‘ape’ into the Bored Ape Yacht Club. He is a massive name, with over 55 million followers on Twitter, the major platform for the NFT community. Particularly, he purchased Bored Ape #6633 for a total price of 159.99 ETH. In the current market, that price totals $397,000.

Neymar Jr. has purchased a Bored Ape Yacht Club, becoming the next big celebrity to join the space. He purchased #6633 for 159.99 ETH, which is currently around $397,000 and almost double the floor price. He also made this NFT his Twitter profile picture.

The reason he purchased one for this high of a price is due to the Rarity. The Ape he purchased is particularly rare and ranked as the #106 rarest on the Rarity Tools’ scale.

To have a Bored Ape that is ranked anywhere near the top 100 is of course extremely massive. Neymar can certainly afford this price, with his estimated yearly salary of $96 million (based on the year of 2020, per FootballTransfers), which includes any bonuses and sponsorships.

Neymar is a big fan of NFTs, he owns a couple of Bored Ape Yacht Club in his EneJayVault wallet. It is also reported that he owns many ENS domain names.
