The Chainmonsters free-to-play system of earning is here. Now, it will be possible to earn free crypto from this blockchain game. All you have to do is simply by spend time in its virtual world once live to the public.
German studio Bside Games created the platform, which is currently in Beta. This week Chainmonsters’ developers announced players will be able to set their sights on turning a profit. Basically, earnings will come in the form of an in-game currency, which does not exist on the blockchain. Instead, the digital currency allows users to buy a limited amount of resources, thus helping them progress.
A separate, premium currency is also available. This is available via Apple Pay and other digital payment systems. Essentiallty, it unlocks features like the Season Pass as well as other time-specific drops and bundles.
As you may realise, this means the ‘Chainmonsters’ economy is not on blockchain per se. However, they do use NFTs. Non-fungible tokens are available to consume or collect. Plus, they add a range of gameplay mechanics to the platform. For example, a Beta Season Pass comes with 25 NFTs and 75 in-game rewards.
More on Chainmonsters Free-to-Play Earnings
If you’ve seen ‘Chainmonsters’ then the game should be familiar. Players are tasked with finding and catching monsters, called Chainmons. However, not every one of these is an NFT on the blockchain. You can mint Chainmosnsters NFTs via the Flow blockchain. To do so, invest in a “Season Pass”, which will include Mint Tokens. Burning these mints the Chainmon to the blockchain – thereby making it an NFT. No minted Chainmons have functionality yet, but we expect to see more in forthcoming updates.
Chainmons can also be upgraded, using resources like gemstones, flowers, and Chip Dollars. Additionally, throughout the world players can find Common and Rare gemstones. Apparently, these gemstones have a chance to gain Epic or Legendary status. When this happens, the new version is automatically an NFT. The same rule applies for rewards players receive from boss challenges — Epic and Legendary rewards are always non-fungible tokens.
A Good Time to Invest
If you haven’t already explored the ‘Chainmonsters’ platform then now is a great time to do so. The game’s Genesis sale begins today, Tuesday 14th September. Three bundle options are available — Rare ($80), Epic ($160), and Legendary ($450).
Each comes with access to the Chainmonsters Beta game, and 25 exclusive NFTs — some of which are exclusive for this sale. Legendary buyers will also get one of 1,000 Amber Chainmons — and no more will ever be made in the future.
Play-to-earn games continue to grow in popularity. This month alone NFT Evening has reported on new mechanics in ‘KOGs Slam‘, Decentraland Games’ new ‘ICE Poker‘ offering, ‘Crypto Raiders‘ — the first game of its kind to use loot bag NFTs — and a new native token for ‘Forest Knights‘.
