For this year’s DesignerCon, the giant collectible event teamed up with NFT platform VeVe to launch its first limited-edition non-fungible tokens. Reportedly, the collection will feature top DesignerCon artists, brands and IPs.
DesignerCon 2021 NFTs: what you should know
This year DesignerCon, the largest toy and collectible convention in the US, teamed up with dedicated platform VeVe to join the NFT market. In addition to the physical event, held between November 12-14th, attendees can own digital collectibles from their top favorites.
The DesignerCon NFT debut collection will include exclusive drops with Camillle Rose Garcia, Tristan Eaton, and Tara McPherson, among others.
Users can also buy limited drop blind boxes, with a starting price of $13. These surprise boxes feature 3D models from the most popular toy series of the event. Accordingly, these special NFTs have been curated by the VeVe founder, David Yu, himself!
The launch might become an instant hit, given that most NFT enthusiasts are collectors at their core – and so is VeVe.
VeVe, connecting collectors through NFTs
The collaboration between DesignerCon and VeVe is seamless. The digital collectible app aims to turn NFT collectibles trading into a fun, simple experience. As a result, the platform allows users to purchase digital collectibles with cryptocurrency, as well as US dollars.
Then, collectors can show off their NFTs by creating a virtual showroom. Furthermore, they can also display collectibles via Veve’s Augmented Reality technology; this way, users will be able to visit their curated digital collection anytime.
Launched in 2018, VeVe is dedicated to releasing only carbon-neutral NFTs – a key aspect for today’s dedicated marketplaces. Impressively, the marketplace now has over 350,000 active users, with 1.4 million NFTs sold to date.
