Eminem is now a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT holder! As expected, the blue-chip NFT project exited 2021 in style by adding the iconic rapper to its growing list of high-profile club members. Eminem paid $462K to purchase BAYC #9055, which he now uses as his PFP on his Twitter account with over 21 Million followers!
Inside Scoop: Eminem Joins Bored Ape Yacht Club
BAYC #9055′ sports hip hop clothes. Only 1% of the Bored Apes has this making it a perfect fit for Eminem. In addition, it has an army hat, white fur and closed eyes with 3%, 4% and 7% rarity levels, respectively.
Leading NFT Collector @Gee__Gazza sold the NFT to Eminem. Interestingly, he tagged Eminem in a tweet last July inviting the rapper to ape in along with a photo of the NFT that the rapper now owns. The tweet reads: “Hey @Eminem, fancy joining @BoredApeYC? I got your ape ready to go.”
Thus, he was over the moon when he successfully closed the sale. He exclaimed, “Been manifesting it for months. It’s surreal.”
@Gee__Gazza has an extensive NFT Collection, which includes several blue-chip NFTs. On OpenSea alone, he has 76 NFTs under his name from Mutant Ape Yacht Club, RTFKT, Chromie Squiggles and more! He has a rare Paradise Trippies NFTs with a 100 ETH price tag! So Eminem was definitely in good hands.
What’s unique about this sale is that someone who is not part of the BAYC core group proactively sought out a celebrity to purchase an NFT. So this clearly shows how much he believes in the project that he was willing to walk the extra mile. This is the reason why BAYC is often praised for its engaged community. NFT holders are literally pitching in to make the project successful out of their own volition! Needless to say, @Gee__Gazza was rewarded handsomely for his efforts!
Sounds stupid. Sounds ridiculous. Sounds nerdy or lame or any multitude of words.
Been manifesting it for months. It’s surreal.

Aside from Eminem, BAYC has also pulled in Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Curry and Post Malone. Most recently, OpenSea’s CFO took the plunge and aped into the Bored Ape Yacht Club! So Eminem is definitely in good company.
BAYC’s 2021 Recap
Saying that BAYC had a terrific year is an understatement. It started as an NFT Collectible and grew to become a powerhouse franchise in the space. It looks like 2022 would be an even better year because it will release its own iOs game. In addition, an animated series is also in the pipeline.
BAYC is not just popular; it is also a massive commercial success. It has a lifetime tradeable volume of $285 400 ETH or $1.05 Billion. A few days before Christmas, BAYC’s floor price rose to 53.9 ETH, flipping CryptoPunk’s floor price of 52.69 ETH. As of press time, BAYC and CryptoPunk floor price is tied at 65.6 ETH!
Suffice to say, BAYC will be at the forefront of pushing NFTs to achieve mainstream adoption and the entire NFT community will be right behind it!
