Town Star, a competitive farming game on Gala Games, has introduced a new coin called TownCoin. TownCoin is the game’s official play-to-earn reward token. With this move, Town Star is replacing its earlier conceptual BoxCoin.

What we know about TownCoin
At this point, there is little information about TownCoin’s tokenomics. Till now, Town Game players participated in weekly competitions. Those who created the best farms won rewards based on a ranking system.
“The Town Star play-to-earn overhaul is one of the most exciting and massive undertakings in Gala Games history,” Gala Games noted in a blog post.
Gala Games’ believes the move will “revolutionize” Town Star and attract new gamers. Additionally, it expects it will “form an economic basis for play-to-earn reward models built into future Gala Games titles.”
TownCoin is Gala Game’s first in-game currency. Currently, players in the ecosystem use GALA token, the platform’s utility token, to make in-game purchases. Recently, GALA’s value had shot up by 265% following its Binance listing.
The blockchain gaming platform has been on an upward trajectory in recent months. Today, it has over 1.3 million monthly active users. Additionally, it has sold over 26,000 NFTs.
