More on McKayla Maroney NFTs
The McKayla Maroney NFT collection comes with a total of four NFTs. The star of the show, is of course, the ‘Not Impressed’ NFT.
“In honor of the 2021 Olympic Women’s Gymnastics team wrapping up their competitions in Tokyo, I’m releasing my 1/1 Not Impressed meme,” Maroney noted on OpenSea. “This will be the only one of its kind ever minted.”
A two time World Vault Champion, Maroney contested in the 2012 London Olympics at the age of 16. She won a team gold medal as well as an individual silver medal on the vault. The latter gave rise to the now-infamous Not Impressed meme.
In addition to the NFT, the auction winner will get a free signed copy of the gymnast’s book when it’s released. Moreover, a Twitter follow from McKayla, a meet and greet, as well as a private gymnastics lesson, or workout session are included as part of the NFT.
The ‘Not Impressed’ meme now joins a slew of famous memes that have been minted as NFTs. ‘Friendship Ended with Mudasir’ meme, for instance, was recently sold for over $50,000. Meanwhile, an NFT of the iconic ‘Doge’ Meme sold for a record $4 million in June.
