Acclaimed digital artist, John Taylor Dismukes’ NFT collectibles are now live on the NFT platform, Terra Virtua. The artist turned his original 1982 airbrush painting, ‘Death Merchant’ into a series of AR and VR NFTs. The NFTs will be available as four monthly drops on Terra Virtua.

“AR/VR collectibles are a brand new frontier for artists, especially when augmented reality gives people the chance to live and breathe a piece of work,” Dismukes said. “Sharing my art in this way is something I’ve been wanting to do my whole life. Platforms like Terra Virtua provide artists with an amazing opportunity to participate in this new frontier/community and we’re very excited to be a part of it.”

Meet the artist behind Death Merchant NFTs

With decades of experience, Dismukes started focusing on digital art more than 30 years ago. In the beginning, he worked as an illustrator in Hollywood, specifically, in the music and entertainment industries. Notably, he has created airbrush paintings for rock legends including Steppenwolf, The Grateful Dead, Megadeath, and Foreigner. Besides, he has created logos, posters, and merchandise for a range of Hollywood movies such as Mad Max, Transformers, Jurassic Park, and Star Trek. Dismukes has also worked in the video games industry with giants like Epic Games.

Now, he’s foraying into the NFT space to enable his fans a new way to own his works. For this, he has recreated ‘Death Merchant’ as a unique AR VR NFT collection. The collectibles will be available in four different themes: earth, wind, fire and water. The first of the four NFT drops is of the fire element, featuring “a fiery artwork asset with yellow emissions”. These will be available in six rarities.

You can buy the first fire element NFT drop on Terra Virtua.
