NFTs continue to push the boundaries of creativity. Non-Fungible Jokin’ is all set to become the world’s first NFT Comedy event. The live taping will take place at the intimate LA comedy venue, Dynasty Typewriter, on July 30th and 31st. Then, NFTs for each show including production, right, royalties and more will be auctioned off to fans and collectors.
Ilegal Mezcal, Laugh Lounge and Moonriver are sponsoring the performances.

The First NFT Comedy Event
Non-Fungible Jokin’ is top-billed by an all-star cast and an Emmy award-winning crew led by production partner Laugh Lounge. The show guarantees two nights of hilarious and truly non-fungible standup performances. The project is minting early every part of the event as an NFT and auctioning it off for fans to own and resell.
The first night dubbed as Non-Fungible Jokin’ #1, kicks off with an intimate conversation between comedy A-listers Maria Bamford and Beth Stelling. Then, their comedy act will be followed by a comedy showcase hosted by Moses Storm featuring a star-studded line-up including Adam Ray, Ian Edwards, and Brooks Wheelan.

Bamford cracks up the crowd by portraying dysfunctional families and self-deprecating comedy involving jokes about depression and anxiety. Her work has drawn critical acclaim and she’s as mainstream as it gets in the comedy world. She played the lead role in Netflix’s “Lady Dynamite,” an original series based on her life. On the other hand, Stallinghas performed in the Netflix series The Standups and served as a writer for the HBO television series Crashing. So with their combined exceptional set of comedy accolades, we already know how the night will end.
Non-Fungible Jokin’ #2 continues with another incredible showcase hosted by Moses Storm. On the second night, it will be the turn of Pete Holmes, Chaunte Wayans, Beth Stelling and Zainab Johnson to make the crowd laugh. Holmes is a mainstay on variety shows on major networks while Wayans appeared on a Netflix stand-up commercial. Lastly, Johnson rounds up the line-up with merit as a consistent placer to Variety’s “Top 10 Comics To Watch.”

What makes this different Non-Fungible Jokin’ Unique
Non-Fungible Jokin’ is changing both entertainment and the world of NFTs. For the first time, comedians and their production teams participate in the financial success of a show’s sale. Jambb’s NFT Marketplace will host the auction and provide borderless access to content.
Event producer Brandon Henderson shared that the NFT comedy event follows the creator-first mentality. So they will not follow the industry practice where artists receive final percentages after substantial expenses.
Henderson said, “All artists make a percentage of gross profits” so even the production team will receive a share for their work. Thus, the project will generate value for artists long after the show.
In conclusion, the project aims to replicate to comedians what NFTs did to musicians. Through NFTs, they can be their own distribution channel and cut down on intermediaries like music labels and production houses. In effect, the artists will receive the full monetary value of their work instead of intermediaries taking the lion’s share.
