On December 2nd, the largest Black-owned bank in the US – OneUnited bank, will collect the “From Paris with Love” NFT at Le Art Noir. The bank is also the sponsor of the Le Art Noir event at Miami’s Art Basel Week.
The “From Paris with Love” NFT is made by artist Addonis Parker and will be previewed at Miami’s Art Week.
OneUnited Bank and Josephine Baker
The OneUnited bank has been quite vocal for the rights of Blacks and its allies. Also, the bank started the “Bank Black Movement” which helps Black communities with a proper influx of deposits.
Besides, Josephine Baker, herself was a civil rights activist and initiated #BlackGirlMagic. Additionally, she was the first Black woman to become a world-famous entertainer. Her various works included being a spy, wartime hero. Apart from this, she was the only female speaker at March on Washington standing next to Dr Martin Luther King Jr.
Well, the event’s location also comes as a special one. Since, 1951, Josephine refused to perform for segregated audiences in Miami. And her insistence on mixed audiences led to integrated live entertainment shows in Miami, Las Vegas and other cities of the US.
Event’s timeline and the NFT
The painting ” From Paris With Love” was first unveiled at National Hotel on Miami Beach.
Moving along, on December 30th, Ms Baker was celebrated in Paris, as well as, was honoured at the Pantheon Monument.
Finally, on December 2nd, the NFT collection will premier at Le Art Noir. Meanwhile, the event also includes exhibitions of many other artists from all around the world.
Subsequently, OneUnited will purchase the first NFT from the collection and the additional renditions will be open to the public.
