As part of World Chimpanzee Day, Save the Chimps auctioned chimpanzee-made paintings as NFTs. The paintings in the “Primal Expressions” were made by three rescue chimpanzees at the biggest privately funded chimpanzee sanctuary.

Primal Expressions: The First Chimpanzee-made NFT Collection
Cheetah, Clay and Tootie made the paintings in the NFT Collection. These three chimps are active painters through the sanctuary’s enrichment activities. This means that they consistently and independently choose to paint because they actually love and enjoy it.
Ana Paula Tavares, CEO of Save the Chimps assured fans and collectors that the pieces are not just random artwork. She said, “We know that Cheetah and Tootie and Clay are especially great artists and love spending their time painting. ”
Apart from the Chimpanzee-made NFT paintings, Save the Chimps is also auctioning off a special VIP package that includes an exclusive tour of the sanctuary. This is a big deal because the sanctuary is normally completely closed to the public and relies on donations to help provide the chimpanzees the great care they deserve.
More about the advocacy
224 chimps call the sanctuary s their home. Before the sanctuary, these chimpanzees were living in cages and subjected to medical testing and experiments. Thus, Save The Chimps will use the NFT sale proceeds to provide care and refuge to chimpanzees at their sanctuary in Fort Pierce, Florida. In essence, the chimps need nutritious meals, veterinary care, enrichment, and companionship.
