To celebrate the 50th National Day of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Emirates Post Group (EPG) is launching a collection of NFT stamps.
The EPG is releasing four unique stamps on December 2nd to highlight the importance of the UAE’s golden jubilee. The stamps are linked to a physical counterpart.
Celebrating the history of the UAE, the first stamp is called ‘The Golden Jubilee 2021’. The rarest of the four NFTs, it contains one gram of fine gold. Secondly, the ‘Spirit of the Union -1971’ NFT stamp is dedicated to the founding fathers of the nation. Additionally, the third stamp is called ‘Year of the 50th – 2021’. Finally, the fourth stamp, ‘Projects of the 50th – 2071’, represents the UAE’s future vision.
The CEO of Emirates Post Group commented on the announcement. Abdulla Mohammed Alashram said, “We are proud to announce the launch of the first NFT stamp in the region, which utilises blockchain technology. We are bridging the gap between traditional stamps and the world of digital cryptocurrency.”
NFT stamps are not a novelty
This is by no means a novelty project for the EPG. Although the stamps portray the UAE’s history and milestones, there is much more to it. In fact, they see the project as the first step in integration towards a ‘digital centred’ approach to the way the country behaves in the future.
Finally, If you are interested, you can purchase the NFT stamps at www.epgnft.ae starting from December 2nd, 2021.
