The Esports and NFT storyline continues. WePlay ESports announced the launch of its NFT collectibles based on its most famous tournaments. The ‘Storyline’ Collection is set to list on Binance Marketplace as part of the ‘100 creators’ campaign.
WePlay Esports hosts tournaments in Dota 2, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, and World of Tanks.
WePlay NFTs will be part of the ecosystem
Of course, WePlay gamified its Storyline Collection. The NFTs will also become part of the WePlay ecosystem. The NFTs are paired with digital collectibles from WePlay’s tournaments.
Players can choose between 3 types of NFTs. Logo token is paired with a static or animated logo of the tournament. The second token has an image of the keepsake which will also be in a static or animated format – trophy token. And the crown jewel is the Story Token. It features WePlay’s unique stories throughout its franchise history.
In the WePlay NFT Collection, Logo and Trophy tokens are further classified into Common, Rare, and Ultimate versions.
Why Esports and NFTs go together
It is only natural for traditional organizations adapting NFTs to be in the spotlight. However, Esports and NFTs have undeniable chemistry. Esports gaming is purely digital by nature. As such, its fans and followers are generally tech-savvy and can easily adapt NFTs.
Esports is a $1.08 Billion global industry based on 2021 reports. This figure represents an almost 50% increase from the previous year. The NFT industry is enjoying the same upward trajectory. Thus, Esports and NFT Industry projects such as the WePlay NFTs are entering the market from a position of strength.
