Superplastic has just announced a collaboration with Bored Ape Yacht Club. It is safe to say that NFT Twitter has received the news well, with many saying how excited they are for this collaboration.
According to the official website, Superplastic is producing the first official Bored Ape Yacht Club vinyl figurines. This will include multiple colourways, as well as special editions for the BAYC community. Superplastic and BAYC haven’t revealed the details yet. However, from the brief description, this collaboration is bound to be a hit!
About Superplastic
Superplastic is a global entertainment brand that manages animated celebrities and influencers. Its roster includes Instagram and TikTok sensations Janky & Guggimon, Dayzee & Staxx, Kranky and ShüDog, to name but a few. It is rapidly growing in popularity; so much so that it is being referred to as the “next Disney, Marvel and Supreme combined.”
In addition to managing the branding of the characters, Superplastic is popular for producing exclusive character merchandise. Since its launch in 2018, the company has sold most drops in a matter of minutes. Moreover, it has also attracted the attention of real-life celebrities and collaborated with Gorillaz, Rico Nasty, J. Balvin and Steve Aoki.
The next step forward for BAYC
This collaboration makes perfect sense for BAYC, especially as it has already cemented itself as one of the leading NFT collections in the metaverse. Moreover, the company behind BAYC, Yuga Labs, is expanding; as it recently acquired the CryptoPunks and Meebits collections from Larva Labs. Therefore, everything points towards the expansion of the BAYC brand in the metaverse and beyond.
