Melania Trump’s one-month-old NFT platform is auctioning off her iconic white hat, a watercolor painting and an NFT as part of the “Head of Space Collection.”
Last December 2021, the former US First Lady launched her own NFT platform. She promised to release NFTs in regular intervals exclusively on MelaniaTrump.com. Barely a month after her maiden offering, she’s back for her second drop featuring a collection of White House memorabilia! The new NFT Collection features a digital piece, a physical artwork and a physical accessory.
The three lots are being auctioned together starting January 11 with a starting bid of $250,000.
Melania Trump’s Second NFT Drop: Hat, Artwork and an NFT
The centerpiece of the trio is the iconic wide-brimmed white hat she wore during the 2018 state visit. Together with Former President Donald Trump, she welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte to the White House. The hat was a looker and featured the same fabric as the Michael Kors suit that she was wearing.
French designer Hervé Pierre exclusively custom-designed and fashioned the hat for the event. “Mrs. Trump recognized this important moment for the country, and accordingly, a great deal of consideration went into the planning.” Thus, it was crucial to work with Pierre as a nod to the French Culture.
So why a hat? Why THIS hat? According to the announcement, it all boils down the quality. “The elegant hat, without ornate decoration, spoke loudly to Mrs. Trump’s admiration for millinery design and superior craftsmanship. This one-of-a-kind hat was constructed from the same white crepe textile as the suit, and fabricated in New York City.”
The collection also comes with an “original watercolor” painting created by fashion artist Marc-Antoine Coulon. He is also the artist behind the digital artwork from the first Collection, Melania’s Vision, representing her “cobalt blue eyes.” In addition, it comes with an accompanying NFT to commemorate and celebrate the occasion.
About the Head of State NFT Collection
Part of the proceeds from both Trump’s initial NFT and the newly-announced “Head of State” collection will go to Charity. The “Fostering the Future” initiative helps children who have been in the foster care system access computer science and technology education.
Melania shared that her project “will provide students with a range of technology skills to prepare them for the workforce.” She added, “I am excited to inspire America’s next generation of entrepreneurs.”
Melania confirmed that she would be auctioning off more items related to Trump’s Presidential term. However, it will always include digital artwork, a physical accessory and an NFT!
