British fashion company, BooHoo’s NFT collection debut will be a free one, on the Polygon blockchain, for all customers. To clarify, this comes as they begin to make their two-phase introduction into the NFT and metaverse space.
The NFT Collection
Phase one of the brand’s debut has included the launch of their NFT education platform, @boohooverse on Twitter. Keen to empower up-and-coming female artists and ensure the digital world becomes a more inclusive and representative space, boohoo ran a global competition to support their second phase of inception.
This competition recruited 3-5 artists in the NFT space. From some point today, 10th April, boohoo’s audience will be able to own their first NFT from the company for free. They will be able to claim their free NFT online through the boohoo website.
This NFT is an access card, which will provide access to digital artwork by Amy Kilner. As well as this, early access to the company’s phase two movements, as well as exclusive offers and discounts.
This debut NFT collection will be launched on the Polygon blockchain, meaning that purchasers won’t have to pay a ridiculously high gas fee as they would on Ethereum. boohoo has chosen the platform for its smaller environmental impact. Polygon operates on a proof-of-stake mechanism compared to Ethereum’s proof-of-work system.
