The NFT icon, Kevin, who was made famous from the Pixelmon NFT collection, has NFTs that are now trending once again, despite the current bear market worries.
About the Kevin NFTs
Kevin NFTs originated from the highly-criticised project: Pixelmon, which was recently released for a huge mint price. The art didn’t match the hype and cost of minting. However, one of the characters, Kevin, became an NFT icon from the launch, based on his funny looks and a “vibe”.
Since the launch of Pixelmon, many other related collections to the character have been launched. Kevin Punks, Pixel Kevin, Lives of Kevin and more. The collections have not reached drastically high prices, however, there’s lots of hype and people jumping onto the trend “for the vibes”.
Additionally, Kevin has been trending for the past few weeks, with the hype dying down slightly. But now, he is back trending for no particular reasons. We never know what to expect from the meme NFT space, and we’ll have to look out for the future of any other NFTs.
The Trending NFTs
@LUVELLI on Twitter, a photographer and Bored Ape Yacht Club holder, recently discussed the increase of price saying “No financial advice. My opinion. These are trending and hilarious.” He proceeded to say “degen rules”.
The particular collection he was talking about was Pixel Kevin. The 1,165 piece collection currently sits at a floor price of 0.03 ETH. Also, there have been several sales in the past hour.
His tweet received mainly positive feedback and funny replies, with some actually buying some of these NFTs. Users’ comments included “that’s hilarious!”, “Kevin is the hero we deserve” and “holy guacamole”.
The collection has a small audience on Twitter of just under 500 followers and a Discord userbase of 273 members. Interestingly, the project’s mint was 95% free to users, and users could mint up to ten of the NFTs.
