Mercedes x FTX Partner To Release An F1 NFT Collection

By Bishal Kumar ChandaMay 3, 2022Updated:September 20, 20222 Mins Read

The Mercedes-AMG Petronas has partnered up with FTX to release an F1 NFT collection to engage with their fans. According to the press release, the F1 team is collaborating with various artists throughout the 2022 race calendar.

Meanwhile, the initiative will be initiated at the inaugural Miami Grand Prix on May 7th and 8th. Furthermore, it will take “the thrill of racing onto the beach with all-day entertainment and a soundtrack, including epic headline acts closing the show each day.”

The initial releases of the ‘Mercedes-AMG Petronas x NFTs’ concept are free-to-claim ‘Ticket Stubs’ NFTs. In fact, the “Ticket Stubs” are digital and artistic interpretations of the Mercedes F1 race tickets.

Accordingly, there will be 2,500 NFT Ticket Stubs NFTs dedicated to each race of the season. Moreover, the Ticket Stubs NFTs will be randomly distributed to fans who register for the initiative.

Subsequently, the second NFT collection will consist of 1,000 limited edition Ticket Stubs up for free distribution. Again, Mercedes will be distributing these for free at five races across the season’s calendar.

Finally, the third collection consists of 10 exclusive NFTs. However, unlike the first two collections, you can only purchase these through an FTX US NFT marketplace auction.

The NFT artwork will feature the cars driven by team drivers Lewis Hamilton and George Russell in the Miami edition. In addition, it will also consist of Mad Dog Jones-designed rear wing plates used on the car on race day.

The NFTs, which Mercedes F1 described as “the first ever chance to own a piece of both digital and physical motorsport history”, will be up for auction on May 6th on the FTX NFT marketplace.
