The conflict between Russia and Ukraine has been escalating day by day. A couple of days ago, the official Ukraine Twitter account shared a Bitcoin and an Ethereum address to receive crypto donations. Donors can use this information to help the Ukrainians through BTC, ETH, or USDT. Murat Pak has responded to the call, donating 670 ETH to the wallet. At the time of writing, the donation amounts to around $1.7 million.
The donation comes from Murat Pak’s Censored NFT collection. The digital artist has partnered with WikiLeaks founder, Julian Assange, to complete this project. This collection aligns with WikiLeaks’ objective of publishing news leaks and classified media, often involving large datasets of censored and restricted materials. The platform mostly specializes in areas revolving around war, spying and corruption.
This NFT project seems appropriately fitting to contribute to the current circumstances. Although part of the community questioned his intentions, many applauded and thanked him for his contributions. Nevertheless, kudos to Pak for this generous initiative.
To date, many in the crypto and NFT space have been giving generously. For instance, Pussy Riot‘s Nadya has launched UkraineDAO to raise funds for Ukrainians. Among others, Binance’s CZ and Tron’s Justin Sun have expressed interest to donate. In addition, Polkadot’s Gavin Wood also requested a DOT link so that he can donate $5 million to the cause.
Given that the crypto and NFT space regularly promote their community-first mantra, it’s definitely heart-warming to see everyone from regular joes to crypto billionaires step up to the plate.
Interested parties can go to the official tweet to get the donation addresses.
